Seed phrase storage mapping
A practical vocabulary for documenting where recovery material lives — without confusing secrecy with forgetfulness.
What a storage map is
A storage map is a controlled document that describes copies, media types, locations, access conditions, and review dates. It deliberately omits the recovery words themselves. Think of it as a facilities diagram for secrets, not a second copy of the secret.
CloudCompute Grid teaches mapping because most failures we see are logistical: two people holding incompatible mental models, backups clustered in one apartment, or clever hiding places that outsmart their owners months later.
Four layers we teach
Inventory
List every known copy and every suspected leftover. Include “temporary” notes that never got shredded.
Topology
Decide which copies are primary, which are disaster backups, and which relationships unlock which doors.
Stress tests
Walk fire, theft, illness, and inheritance. Remove patterns that fail quietly.
Cadence
Schedule short integrity checks. Update the map when life moves — new locks, new cities, new people.
